The secret is out.
9 months after being voted the 5th best place in the country to live by Money Magazine, Louisville was selected as the #1 place in the country to raise children by a pair of nationally recognized researchers.
Bert Sperling and Peter Sander, authors of Best Places to Raise Your Family: The Top 100 Affordable Communities in the U.S. (Frommer's, $24.99), put Louisville at the top of their list.
"It's how the pieces of the puzzle all fit together," Sander says. "The area has a great combination of setting, education, housing, local employment, comfortable climate and community feel."
Specifically, Louisville came out on top in the book's major categories: demographics, standard of living, education, lifestyle, health and safety. But "a place is much more than just statistics," Sperling says. "You can have good feelings about a place, as we did." |
